security smart: change begins with you

We have been told time and time again that building security begins with the residents. While the Security Committee will be looking at ways to maximize our security and advise the Boards on security priorities, residents must also continue to be aware. As the weather keeps getting colder, our heated underground parking and back hallways may become more appealing to some looking for a bit of shelter. Phase 3 has initiated a type of community watch system, which they have appropriately called the: Show Your Fob Campaign. It’s a simple, yet effective way of increasing the community’s awareness of who is gaining access to our homes. Posters with the Show Your Fob slogan will be posted at the entry doors to both Phase 1 and 2 in the coming days. This will help to relieve some of the awkwardness we have all felt when we see a person we do not recognize and we ask them whether they live in the building. These posters will be at the doors soon. When you see them, please ask everyone entering behind you if they have a fob and wait for them to show you their fob before letting them in. In the new-year, we will be launching the One-Click One-Car Campaign. The goal is to minimize the opportunity for people to sneak into the garage after cars. These are a few ways we can ensure we all play an important role in maintaining security for all residents.
