Phase 2 Lobby Refurbishment

Over the past few months the members of the Phase II Facilities Improvement Committee have been meeting, e-mailing, discussing, and even more e-mailing regarding the improvements to the Phase II entry space. The Design Consultant who was engaged, Serina Fraser of Clear Designs, brought with her a solid vision and provided the Committee with 3D drawings, samples of materials, as well as architectural plans and sketches with which we could make informed decisions on the layout, colour scheme and the little details that will make this shared space into something special. The members, all residents from Phase II, discussed and debated their varying views eventually to find consensus in a plan that reflects the design spirit of the East Market. The Design Consultant provided the Committee with the financial information based on solicited estimates for the work, such that we could make our decisions on not only the design, but also the cost effectiveness of the proposed solutions. In the end, our deliberations have produced a design and plan with which we are proud to be associated. We believe the outcome is in keeping with the standards we expect for our building and the face we want to project for all who visit us. The design schematics and selected finishes will be posted in the Phase II corridor leading to the Party room. We are please to inform you that the work will commence this coming Monday, August 18th.
